Akida Abulimit (Abulimiti Aikedan) earned her bachelor's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Peking University in 2020. Following her graduation, she spent eight months working at the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Shanghai. In 2023, she graduated from  New York University Biology Master's Program and matriculated into the PBSB program at Weill Cornell Medicine. Akida is passionate about RNA biology, particularly in the context of neurodegeneration, and is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in the Gan lab, where she is involved in RNA-related research projects. She is also co-mentored by Dr. Hagen Tilgner. Outside of the lab, she enjoys shopping, reading, watching movies, and going to Broadway.
