Matt Mahoney

Matt Mahoney graduated from Brown University with a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience, where he first developed an interest in glia biology. After college, he worked as technician in Beth Stevens’ laboratory at Boston Children's Hospital. There, he worked on projects examining the role of phosphatidylserine exposure in synapse pruning and complement cascade-independent functions of C1q in the brain. As a graduate student in the Gan Lab, he is excited to further pursue his interests in microglia biology and neuro-immune interactions in the context of neurodegeneration.


Hobbies: running, reading
