Yuansong Wan, PhD

Yuansong Wan grew up in the south of China, mixed with Hunan and Guangdong, and graduated from the University of Tokyo with a PhD in Neuronal Cell Biology. During his PhD, he worked with Dr. Nobutaka Hirokawa studying the mechanism of kinesin, KIF4, mutation-induced susceptibility to seizure via various in vitro and in vivo experiments. 

He is fascinated with microglia-neuron crosstalk in AD and joined Dr. Li Gan’s lab to explore novel molecular and cellular fundamental mechanisms, especially of tauopathy. In his free time, he enjoys exploring new recipes and cooking up a storm in the kitchen. He’s also passionate about photography.
